LG announced its X series with new smartphones: X Power, X Mach, X Style and X Max

The smartphone market has become a crowded and competitive place, and even some of the biggest names out there have had to adjust how they do business. For names like LG this means paying more attention to the lower-end and mid-range parts of the market, in order to offer all kinds of buyers an LG smartphone. Previously, LG did this with their K-series line of products, but now LG has announced four new smartphones that join the X family, and it’s already existent members, the X cam and X screen. According to the official wording, the new X power, X mach, X style and X max “share many of the top end features found on LG’s flagship G and V series handsets”.

LG X Power:
The LG X Power is all about delivering you more juice throughout the day so that your phone doesn't just last a full 24 hours, it goes beyond that. We got some exclusive hands-on time with it to see. Its X Power will feature a 5.3-inch full HD 1080p display, and runs a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. ”Greater battery capacity, faster processor, more sophisticated styling or a larger display”, is each one key selling point and main feature of these four newcomers. The LG X power features a 4,100mAh battery in a slim, 7.9mm-thick case, with fast charging technology, claimed to charge at twice the normal speed.

We've seen other phones crack the 4,000mAh ceiling before, but they're usually bigger. This Android 6.0 phone is 148.9 x 74.9 x 7.9mm and weighs 139g.

LG X Mach:
There's a good chance we may never see the LG Mach outside of Asia because it's designed to push the limits of network speeds with LTE Cat. 9 3CA data transfers and is a dual SIM Android phone. It will be shipping with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a 1.8 Ghz hexa-core CPU and 3GB of RAM, with 32GB of internal storage coming along for the ride and a 3,000 mAh battery keeping things running. The X Mach also features a 12.3-megapixel rear-facing camera, with a larger sensor similar to those in the Galaxy S7 devices, as well as an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and there doesn’t appear to be much in the way of details for the X Max, but it seems like this will have an even larger display than the X Mach.

LG X style and X max:
If these phones aren't pretty or big enough for you, LG is also teasing, but not fully revealing two additional LG X Series phones: LG X Style and LG X Max.

LG X Style, as you may have guessed, sports "gracefully curving lines," according to LG, and an extra-slim body. It's basically a mid-range phone that could be mistaken for a higher-end device.

LG X Max promises a larger display, with the company saying that it's "the ideal phone for consuming multimedia content." We'll be sure to update you on their specs as soon as they are fully unveiled.

All of these new devices from LG share similar DNA, such as a Dual SIM slot, expandable storage, 4G LTE support and the usual WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1 support. As of writing, there is little information from LG on these devices, but they should be launching later this year and pricing will vary depending on each individual market.
